Russian MFA issues a statement on military operations conducted by Turkey in northern Syria

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has issued a statement regarding military operations conducted by Turkey in northern Syria, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

The statement reads that the military operations conducted by Turkish Army in northern Syria causes serious concern.

Russian MFA urges all sides to be maximally patient, to specify taken steps, and respect territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria.

“We do not call into question the importance of Turkey’s struggle with terrorists for ensuring the security,” the statement reads.

The statement also reads that peace and stability in the mentioned region can only be achieved through negotiations among Turkey, Syria and Kurds: “ Moscow confirms its readiness to mediate such dialogue.”
