“Armenia's second president, Robert Kocharyan, has refused to participate in the early elections because he is not acting in the interests of the state, but he only wants to take revenge from acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan,” said the first President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan in his speech at the congress of the Armenian National Congress, APA reports citing Sputnik Armenia.

Ter-Petrosyan noted that there was only one condition regarding his appeal to former presidents Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan: “None of the former leaders will put forward their candidacy for the post of the prime minister.

“On the one hand, this would prevent Nikol Pashinyan's revival, on the other hand, would impede Robert Kocharyan's gaining power. In that case, the post of prime minister should have been filled by someone with serious experience and administrative skills who was able to form a crisis government of technocrats,” Ter-Petrosyan emphasized.

According to L. Ter-Petrosyan Kocharyan's rejection of the offer shows that he is thirsty for revenge on Pashinyan. “When it comes to Serzh Sargsyan, he does not want to come to power, however, is trying to get his party members into parliament,” he added.

Note that L. Ter-Petrosyan appealed to Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan to unite in one pre-election bloc. But they did not accept this offer and they protested against L. Ter-Petrosyan for publicizing it.
