Azerbaijan proposes UNESCO's expert commission to control cultural monuments in the occupied territories

"Destruction of cultural heritage in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan is allowed," said Abulfas Garayev, Minister of Culture, at the press conference following the 43rd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, APA reports.

The Minister emphasized that it is unacceptable: "Yesterday, Mehriban Aliyeva at the session also said that this is a sensitive issue, and we want to achieve UNESCO's support in this matter. For many years Armenia creates obstacle the fact-finding mission to visit the region. We do not have the opportunity to control the monuments of culture. It should be carried out by UNESCO expert commission. Azerbaijan's cooperation with UNESCO in this field continues".
