Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture: “Purpose of the march was to demonstrate Keshikchidagh is our joint European heritage”

The Ministry of Culture has organized a march to Keshikchidag State Historical and Cultural Reserve together with Executive Power of Aghstafa region, Public Relations Department of the Ministry told APA.

According to the Department, the event was held in September in the framework of the “Europe Heritage Days”.

“The main purpose of the march was to demonstrate that the cultural monument was our joint heritage and stress to strengthen our attempts in order to protect it. Azerbaijan side plans to carry out measures with Georgia aimed at presentation of such kinds of monuments, situated on the border of two countries, as an example of cultural value of both Azerbaijani and Georgian nations in the framework of UNESCO and other formats in the future, as well as a historical and cultural bridge between two nations”, reads the information.

Noted that promotion measures are regularly conducted in many reserves and monuments, especially in Gobustan State Historical-Artistic Reserve, Keshikchidag State Historical-Cultural Reserve, Avey Historical-Cultural Reserve, Ganja State Historical and Cultural Reserve, Gabala State Historical and Artistic Reserve, Zagatala Historical and Cultural Reserve and other reserves within framework of “European Heritage Days” and “The International Day for Monuments and Sites” by the Ministry: “"Doors Open Days” are organized in the reserves within framework of the project, exhibitions on protection of our cultural heritage are established and etc. Main purpose is to protect monuments, strengthen citizen-state solidarity in these issues, and inform people on their histories and values. Historical memory and cultural heritage of Azerbaijani and Georgian nations lean on the kind neighborhood and friendship relations, and these relations will develop at a high level for the sake of union of our nations, protection of our historical-cultural heritage and delivery it to following generations.”
