“French Austral lands and seas” reserve presented by France and the nomination “Vatnajokull National Park- dynamic nature of fire and ice” presented by Iceland have been included on the World Heritage List, APA reports.
This decision has been made at the 43rd Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee held in Baku.
Former Environment Minister of France and currently Special envoy on Arctic and Antarctic Segolene Royal has expressed gratitude to the participants.:”50 mln birds reside in the “French Austral lands and seas”, the world’s largest reserve for its territory. We have undertaken ecological and scientific work to solve the problem in the reserve. The decision adopted today encourages us to work harder.”
