‘Ali and Nino’ premieres in Washington, DC

The film ‘Ali and Nino’ was screened at the Navy Memorial and Navy Heritage Center in Washington, DC.

The premiere was co-organized by the Azerbaijani and Georgian embassies in the US.

The premiere of the film, produced by Ms Leyla Aliyeva, vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, was attended by nearly 300 people, including the US Administration and Congress officials, high-ranking diplomats and ambassadors accredited in Washington, representatives of think tanks and public figures.

A dinner-party was hosted in the event, Ambassadors Elin Suleymanov and David Bakradze delivered keynote speeches.

Ambassador Bakradze spoke of the history of friendly and fraternal relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan, said Bakradze, stressing the importance of continued US support for the independence and sovereignty of both states.

The Azerbaijani ambassador spoke about the historical significance of the film to be displayed. Suleymanov thanked the film's creative team and hailed the great work of the film’s executive producer Leyla Aliyeva.

Then, the film was displayed.
