“Australia has long term state policy which supports territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and does not recognize Nagorno Karabakh as an independent state,” this view was noted in a response letter of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Australia addressed to the chairman of Australia-Azerbaijan-Turkey Friendship Union Imadaddin Gasimov, State Committee for Work with Diaspora told APA.

The letter notes that Australia supports the efforts of OSCE Minsk group on Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict and do not try to intervene.

“The conflict should be solved not by the military way, but through negotiations. Foreign Minister’s October 1 statement, talking about “disputed territories” refers to the conflict itself and does not reflect any change in the position of Australis,” the letter reads.

Note that On October 2, Imadaddin Gasimov appealed to the government of Australia regarding defending righteous position of Azerbaijan and recognition of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
