Congress of European Azerbaijanis holding session in Amsterdam

An extraordinary session of the Congress of European Azerbaijanis kicked off in Amsterdam on Tuesday.

Azerbaijani President’s Assistant for Public and Political Affairs Ali Hasanov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov, President of the Congress of European Azerbaijanis Sahil Gasimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Belgium and to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Head of the Azerbaijani Mission to the European Union Fuad Isgandarov, public and political figures, representatives of diaspora in European countries, heads of Azerbaijan’s leading media outlets and other guests are taking part in the session.

Addressing the event, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov spoke about the attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani state to diaspora representatives abroad and about raising international awareness of the country’s realities.

After that, Hasanov and Ibrahimov presented prizes to persons awarded by the Azerbaijani president.

The congress will be continued with speeches and panel discussions. The participants will discuss approving a plan of events in connection with the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Democratic Republic and an action plan on March 31 – the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis. A report by the Congress’ Board will be presented at the session.

A panel discussion on the theme “Azerbaijani Diaspora and Azerbaijani Media: level of cooperation, problems and their solutions” will be held within the session.

President of APA Holding Vusala Mahirgizi will address the panel.
