President Ilham Aliyev has said Azerbaijan is one of the few countries that have been holding a congress of its citizens living abroad.
“We’re doing a lot to solve problems of Azerbaijanis living abroad,” said President Aliyev addressing a republican conference of non-oil exporters in the country’s Yevlakh district April 17.
The president added: “We both help them politically and also create business opportunities for them. They should take an active part in these activities. As far as I know, they are actively involved in our initiatives. Azerbaijanis living abroad, especially those in the CIS, engage in business and have great opportunities. They also should work hard to expand their business opportunities and to help their homeland. This work has begun and our state structures are dealing with these affairs. I invite them to this work. They have large trading networks. They import products from various parts of the world.”
