"The Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe’s coming up ever and again with a biased attitude against Azerbaijan is not a novelty. This has been voiced many times, and the reasons of this phenomenon have been indicated. But in the resolution #2317 adopted by PACE yesterday in regard to media freedom and journalists’ security in Europe, the voicing of groundless critics against Azerbaijan gives us grounds to say that the PACE’s bias against our country has acquired a chronic character", wrote on Facebook page Ali Ahmadov, Deputy Prime Minister, Executive Secretary of New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), APA reports.

The NAP functionary said Azerbaijan lives through rapid development and transformation era: "The successful continuation of the movement forward along the path chosen by the country implies along with many other factors the publicity, the information freedom, and the openness to the world. The cooperation with Europe, the partnership, the expansion of economic relations and the information exchange are the main conditions that give impetus to our country’s movement forward along the chosen path. At the same time, Azerbaijan also openly and resolutely declares that it always gives preference to national and public interests. As with all other issues, the attitude to the freedom of speech and press finds its solution in the context of the freedoms stipulated in Constitution and laws in Azerbaijan. It is possible to list dozens of reasons proving the fact that Azerbaijan takes place among the countries where the freedom of speech and press is broadly protected".
