Azerbaijani Parliament adopts draft law on renaming of Gushchubaba village of Khojaly Baharli

Draft law “About renaming of Gushchubaba village of Khojaly region into Baharli village” was brought up for discussion in Milli Mejlis (MM – the Azerbaijani Parliament), APA reports.

The draft law was presented by chairman of Regional affairs committee of Milli Mejlis Siyavush Novruzov.

S. Novruzov said the draft law “About renaming of Gushchubaba village of Khojaly region of the Republic of Azerbaijan into Baharli village” was presented by the country’s President according to the legislative initiative procedure: “The name of Gushchubaba village situated on the territory of Khojaly region was changed from both geographical viewpoint and in accordance with the Azerbaijani vocabulary and was given Baharli name by initiative of the country’s President. This bears great significance in terms of expression of Azerbaijan’s victory”.

The draft law was put to vote after discussions and was adopted.
