1808 people have appealed for participation in early parliamentary elections to be held on February 9, 2020 in Azerbaijan so far, said Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov at the meeting held today, APA reports.
He said 350 candidates had been nominated by 18 political parties: "11 candidates have been nominated by initiative groups, and 1447 candidates have put forward their candidacy in individual manner".
M. Panahov said the nomination of candidacy of 1348 applicants had already been approved: “From those applicants, 1142 persons have already taken their signature sheets, and 159 persons have returned the signature sheets. The candidacy for deputy of 27 persons has been registered. 1 person registered as a candidate for deputy is a member of a political party. And 74 persons have suspended their participation in the elections”.
