Azerbaijan marks anniversary of Hadrut settlement

A year passed since the liberation of Hadrut settlement of Khojavand district of Azerbaijan, APA reports.

As a result of a successful counter-offensive launched by the Azerbaijani Army on September 27, 2020, Hadrut settlement was liberated from Armenian occupants on October 9.

President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev announced the liberation of Hadrut settlement and 8 more settlements on his address to the nation on October 9, 2020.

The head of state noted that Hadrut settlement and Sor village of Khojavand district, Garajalli, Suleymanli, Afandilar and Gishlag villages of Jabrayil district.

Yukhari Guzlak, Gorazilli villages of Fuzuli district, Chayli village of Tartar district were liberated from occupation with successful operation.

The liberation of Hadrut is considered one of the turning points in the 44-day war.

As a result of the Hadrut operation, Azerbaijani Army destroyed a large amount of personal and equipment of the Armenian Army.

The liberation of Hadrut settlement was not only a heavy defeat for the Armenian army, but also a major psychological blow to the Armenians.

The occupants did not recover from this defeat, and the way of the Azerbaijani Army to Shusha was opened.
