The Azerbaijani president’s aide for public and political affairs, Ali Hasanov, said he believes the UN should be thanked for the non-occurrence of the 3rd World War.

Every dialogue should be based on international law and the UN Charter, the guarantor of which is the Security Council, said Hasanov addressing a panel session titled “Inclusive dialogue in an age of polarization”, which was held as part of the 4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku May 6, APA reported.

“However, it is difficult to agree with the criticism of the Security Council. The Security Council adopted four resolutions which demand the liberation of the occupied Azerbaijani territories. In the UN, some states support Armenia, so resolutions remain unfulfilled,” said Hasanov.

The Azerbaijani official urged the UN to protect the rule of law.
