Azerbaijan begins preparation for celebration of ADR centenary

Preparatory work has been launched for the celebration of the centenary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) and its parliament, Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov said in response to the statement of MP Fazil Mustafa, APA reported.

Addressing a parliamentary meeting on Friday, MP Fazil Mustafa recalled the presidential order on the celebration of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and stressed the need to take steps in order to perpetuate the memories of ADR founder Mammad Amin Rasulzade and Nuru Pasha, who supported the republic.

Fazil Mustafa also said that together with his colleague Gudrat Hasanguliyev they appealed to the Cabinet of Minister of Azerbaijan in connection with the erection of a monument to Nuru Pasha. “Despite this, we have not yet received an aswer,” he added.

In response, Speaker Ogtay Asadov said that the parliament started preparatory work immediately after the presidents signed a relevant order.

“Preparatory work has been launched for the celebration of the centenary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) and its parliament. You will see the results soon,” he added.
