Azerbaijani president signs order on developing draft legal acts on Referendum Act’s entry into force

Baku – APA. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on developing draft legal acts in connection with the entry into force of the Referendum Act “On amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan” that was adopted as a result of the constitutional referendum held in the country on September 26, 2016.

According to the order, the Cabinet of Ministers is due to develop draft legal acts regarding the Referendum Act “On amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan” adopted as a result of the constitutional referendum within six months and submit them to the president, provide conformity of the normative legal acts of the Cabinet of Ministers with the Referendum Act, as well as control conformation of normative legal acts of the central executive power bodies to the Referendum Act and inform the president about it.

The Ministry of Justice has been instructed to provide conforming normative legal acts and normative acts of the central executive power bodies with the Referendum Act “On amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan” that was adopted as a result of the constitutional referendum held in the country on September 26, 2016 and inform the Cabinet of Ministers.
