‘Unfortunately, Azerbaijan’s authority in 1991-1993 could not manage the country necessarily’, said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The president made the remarks at an official reception on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku on May 28, APA reports.
The head of state noted that they did not understand the responsibility and the country was almost unmanageable: ‘Particularly, the situation intensified after coup d'etat by APF-Musavat in 1992. Chaos, anarchy prevailed in the country. Our lands were occupied. APF-Musavat started civil war and this was a tragedy of our people. In a word, those years are a black stain in our history, years of shame. Azerbaijani people endured for only a year then sent them to the archive of the history. Azerbaijani people addressed to Heydar Aliyev and invited him to the power’.
