At today's meeting of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan, the issue on the application of a permanent list of voters was considered.
CEC Deputy Chairman Natig Mammadov said the issue was discussed in detail, APA reports.
Mammadov said that local executive and municipal bodies, including the police, were involved in the voter list.
"Every year, election lists are clarified from January to late May. Additional specifications made to voter lists by precinct election commissions in order to voters to be familiarized with must be completed at least 35 days prior to the voting day. According to the Electoral Code, the elections were scheduled for April 11 and the CEC can shorten the timeframes of voter lists and accelerate the work of election commissions. By March 3, voter lists will be compiled and publicized. I should also note that compared to last year, the number of voters has increased by 28,344 people,” he said.
The issue was put to the vote and approved.
