According to DownDetector, thousands of people are having problems with the social media sites. The messaging app WhatsApp is also said to be affected. All three platforms are owned by parent company Meta, which was formerly known as Facebook. People in the UK, India and the US are reporting problems.
The outage follows snags with several Google-owned sites last week. GMail and YouTube both experienced problems, as the Cloud went down.
Hundreds of people previously reported having difficulties accessing Facebook and Instagram in early November.
