Azerbaijani observers: “Parliamentary elections in Georgia held free and fairly”

Parliamentary elections held in Georgia have been organized fair and at a high level, said Chairman of the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly head of the delegation of Azerbaijan participating as an observer in Georgian parliamentary elections Elnur Allahverdiyev while assessing the course of the elections, APA’s Georgia bureau reports.

He said that the elections have been held in accordance with international obligations and standards: “Democratic parliamentary elections in accordance with international obligations and standards have been held in Georgia. The elections were fair and free in accordance with the requirements of OSCE and European Council, as well as local legislation.”

Attending parliamentary elections the deputy of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Arzu Nagiyev also said that the elections have been organized at a high level by following rules and norms.

He said that Azerbaijani observers visited various cities compactly populated by Azerbaijanis, as well as the territories populated by refugees and IDPs and observed the course of the voting process. The deputy noted that he believes that the results of the elections will positively impact the future of Georgian-Azerbaijani cooperation.
