The number of coronavirus cases in Belgium jumped by 17,709 over the past 24 hours to reach a new record high of daily infections, APA reports citing Teletrader.
According to data provided by Sciensano, the country's national public health institute, Belgium has seen 305,409 COVID-19 cases so far.
Meanwhile, 79 new virus-related deaths were reported, which raised Belgium's total death toll from the virus to 10,737. The country's coronavirus curfew kicked in earlier this week amid the surge in new cases.
