UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a set of new restrictions for England, using the spike in the coronavirus hospitalizations as his reason, APA reports citing Sputnik.

Covid-19 sceptics have gathered to rally against measures imposed to curb the pandemic in London.

As of 28 September, people will be required to stay isolated if they test positive for COVID-19 or if they have come into contact with an infected person, otherwise, they will have to face a fine.

As of Saturday, 425,767 people had tested positive for the COVID-19 in the United Kingdom, where 42,025 patients have died from the disease since the pandemic began.
