The Czech Republic will make it compulsory to wear a face mask indoors in public places from tomorrow, the Minister of Health said this morning as the country reported an uptick in new coronavirus cases, APA reports citing Prague Morning.

The Czech government will order the wearing of face masks inside buildings across the country from Thursday, Health Minister Adam Vojtech said on Twitter, after the daily increase in infections spiked to a record 1,164 on Tuesday.

The Czech government will order the wearing of face masks inside buildings across the country from Thursday, Health Minister Adam Vojtech said on Twitter, after the daily increase in infections spiked to a record 1,164 on Tuesday.

“We agreed with experts that we will introduce the obligation to wear a face mask inside buildings in the entire Czech Republic,” he said.

“Due to the deteriorating epidemiological situation, this morning I convened an extraordinary meeting of the Central Management Team within the Smart Quarantine system,” said the Minister.
