European Union declared its non-recognition of so-called presidential elections in Abkhazia

“The European Union supports territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia, in accordance with international law”, noted in the statement released by the EU on so-called presidential elections held in Abkhazia region of Georgia, APA reports.

“We remind once more regarding so-called presidential elections held in Abkhazia on March 22 that the European Union does not recognize legal base and constitution of the election”, the statement reads.

It has been noted in the statement the EU will continue its policy of not recognizing the so-called regime and not keeping contact with them: “Special representative of the EU for Southern Caucasus and Georgia remains fully mobilized.”
