Georgia hands over chairmanship of Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe to Greece

Georgia's 6-month presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe has ended, APA reports citing Georgia Today.

The Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe has officially been transferred from Georgia to Greece today at the meeting of the CoE Committee of Ministers in Strasbourg.

The meeting has started at 1:00 PM Tbilisi time. Georgia’s Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani has delivered a speech and sum up the achievements and results of Georgia’s Presidency.

The Ambassador of Georgia has handed over the symbolic key of the chairmanship to the Permanent Representative of Greece to the Council of Europe.

The Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe was transferred from France to Georgia during a meeting held in Strasbourg, the Organisation's headquarters, on 27 November 2019.
