The number of cases of coronavirus is expected to reach a peak from the second half of April, depending on how effective the management of the state and our citizens is, - Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said at the briefing at the governmental administration, APA's Georgian bureau reports.

According to him, most of 10 new patients infected with coronavirus are from the known clusters or quarantine zones.

“We follow our plan and the situation is still controlled, since the main contacts of these 10 patients have been established by our epidemiologists and most of them are either from the known clusters or quarantine zones. This gives us reason to think that the situation is not out of control, but this does not allow us not to tighten measures.

Therefore, we believe that we can expect a peak in the second half of April, depending on how effective the management of both the state and our citizens is,” Tikaradze said.

Note that 130 cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Georgia, 26 of patients have already recovered.
