On May 3-12, municipal transport will not operate throughout Georgia; access to cemeteries will be restricted during the Easter holiday. These decisions were made by the Interagency Coordination Council at today’s meeting, which was held at the Government Administration, chaired by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, APA reports citing Georgia Today.
The curfew will not be lifted even during the Easter Holiday, however, as an exception, in connection with the Easter Liturgy, the restriction on movement, for one night only, will be in force from 23:00 on May 1 to 04:00 on May 2.
“May 4-11, the period following the Easter Holiday in Georgia, has been declared a public holiday nationwide., which is aimed at reducing mobility. Based on the decision of the Coordination Council, on May 3-12, the movement of municipal transport will be restricted.
“Regarding the upcoming Easter holiday, as a result of communication with the Georgian Patriarchate, the festive liturgy will be held in churches in maximum compliance with the norms of epidemiological safety,” stated the head of the operational staff of the Interagency Coordination Council, Giorgi Gibradze.
