Pope Francis has called on Azerbaijan and Armenia to hold a dialogue to reach a peaceful and long-term resolution of problems, APA reports.
"We're following with concern the armed tension in Caucasian region, between Armenia and Azerbaijan", - stated the Pope during the Sunday sermon.
As Pope Francis noted, he'll pray for the families of the deceased during the clashes.
The Pope also hoped that with the help of international society the long-term resolution will become possible.
Note that on July 12, the units of the armed forces of Armenia attempted an attack using artillery to seize Azerbaijan's positions on the Tovuz direction of the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border.
