UK number of COVID-19 cases climbs to 223,060

The number of confirmed cases in the United Kingdom climbed by 3,877 on Monday to reach 223,060, the country's Department of Health and Social Care said, APA reports citing Tele Trader.

British health officials noted that today 65,337 people in the UK have been tested for the virus and that 61,460 results came back negative. There were 210 new fatalities reported on Monday as the number of people who died from COVID-19 in the UK remained at 32,065.

It is expected that later today, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson reveals new information regarding the lockdown. However, he said on Sunday that, although the coronavirus is past its peak, it is still not the time to end the lockdown.
