Ukraine's Parliament votes to reduce 2020 state budget

The Verkhovna Rada has reduced the state budget of Ukraine for 2020. 249 MPs voted for the corresponding draft law No. 3279-d during the extraordinary session on April 13, 2020, APA reports citing

According to the amendments, budget revenues of Ukraine decrease from $40.5 bln to $36 bln, while expenses increase from $43.7 bln to $46.7 bln.

The state budget deficit now increases from $3,6 bln to $11 bln.

The lawmakers plan to cover the increased deficit through loans and borrowings. The permitted limit of state debt as of December 31 will also increase from $75.5 bln to $88,1 bln.
