The Confindustria Study Center stated on Saturday that the Italian gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to rise 6.1% this year and a further 4.1% in the next, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"This robust reboot of GDP, equal to over +10% in the two-year period, after almost -9% in 2020, would bring our economy back to pre-crisis levels in the first half of 2022, ahead of initial expectations," the organization said.
The upward revision can be contributed mainly to smaller-than-expected negative effects of the Delta coronavirus variant, Confindustria noted.
