"It is a great honor for us that in Azerbaijan my father, elder brother and I were awarded the Order of Karabakh, that our Turkic Azeri brothers appreciated our work," Seljuk Bayraktar, the author of Turkish military unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) technologies, said this in an interview with CNN-Turk, APA's local bureau reports.
Seljuk Bayraktar noted that the first successes of the national aerial technologies “Bayraktar TB2” were achieved in the Karabakh war, due to the creation of a coordinated and systemic communication with the army during hostilities, as well as due to the correct use of these technologies on the battlefield: “As an engineer, I can say that managing our technology is not easy. If I was asked who is the best using our technology in the world, I would say the Turkish army. Thanks to our anti-terrorism air defense support regularly conducted by the Turkish Armed Forces, we have developed cooperation and the Turkish army has gained a lot of experience in using these technologies. Therefore, we were confident that Bayraktar TB2 is capable of changing the doctrine of war, and this is what happened."
“In 2005, the first UAV of Turkey, Miniya, was handed over to the Turkish army. At the time, this device weighed 6 kilograms and was equipped with one computer system. And today the attack missile "Akinji" weighs 6 tons and is equipped with 100 such computer systems. Intelligent technological systems are developing so rapidly that technologies that could be achieved in 100 years are now achieved in a week. Therefore, it is important to constantly monitor the updated technologies,” said Bayraktar.
The expert predicted that after the 5th generation of military aircraft there will no longer be pilots in the entire air defense area: "F-35, F-16 will go down in history in the near future, there will be no more pilots in the air defense sector, robotic aircraft will be used."
