Batumi City Court Judge Tamar Bezhanishvili sentenced imprisonment to three people detained in connection with the collapse of the building in Batumi as a measure of restraint, APA reports citing Georgian Journal.
The court shared the motion of the prosecution seeking custody of the accused.
According to Prosecutor Alexander Dzirkvadze, he is satisfied with the court decision. He said there is evidence, testimonies from neighbors and an expert conclusion that the accused are guilty.
The lawyers do not agree with the court decision and plan to appeal. They say there is no evidence that their clients acted indifferently as they acted according to the working plan.
The trial is set to begin on December 1.
