Angela Merkel and Boris Johnson discussed the COVID-19 pandemic and the spread of the Delta strain, as well as 'deepening the UK-Germany relationship', among other subjects.
The Delta strain of COVID-19 was first identified in India in October 2020 and is believed to be the fastest-spreading, most contagious coronavirus variant. The strain has since been detected in many other countries.
