The Ukrainian government announced on Wednesday it has extended coronavirus-related lockdown in the country until the end of August, however noting it will ease some of the restrictions currently in effect, APA reports citing Teletrader.

Prime Minister Denys Shmygal noted that all regions countrywide have entered the "green zone," but that Ukraine "must be ready for any development." No further details were provided about restrictions planned to be lifted.

After a tough spring COVID-19 spike, Ukraine is registering less than 2,000 new positive cases in recent days and has returned to levels seen nearly a year ago.
