Ukraine imposes sanctions against 557 kingpins, 111 foreigners

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) has introduced personal sanctions against 557 thieves in law. Also, the NSDC imposed sanctions on 111 foreigners who are crime bosses, this was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his video message, APA reports citing Kyivpost.

"The regular meeting of the National Security and Defense Council has come to an end. Its results are important decisions for the country and, probably, heart attacks for those who have been acting against it and nation for years," Zelensky said.

So, at the NSDC meeting, personal sanctions were applied against 557 thieves in law. The sanctions also "flew" up to 111 foreigners who are crime bosses.

According to Zelensky, the following restrictions will be applied to citizens who are on the NSDC's sanctions list:

-blocking of assets;
-entry ban;
-impossibility of acquiring citizenship;
-forced expulsion.


As the head of state noted, some of these people are now outside Ukraine.

On Thursday, May 13, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree on changes in the composition of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Zelensky entered a new Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko to the National Security and Defense Council.
