Azerbaijan's trade surplus with EU countries decreases by 40%

In January-August of the current year, the volume of the trade turnover of Azerbaijan with EU countries amounted to USD 6,24 bln. and this is USD 2,59 bln. or 29,4% less than compared to the same period of 2019, according to the calculation of APA-Economics based on the report of the State Statistics Committee.

According to the calculation, during the reporting period, the volume of the export decreased by 33,5% to USD 4,81 bln., the volume of the import decreased by 11,2% to USD 1,43 bln. compared to the same period of 2019.

In the first 8 months of the current year, positive trade balance amounted to USD 3,38 bln and this decreased by USD 2,24 bln. or 39,5%.
