Economic growth in Azerbaijan reaches 3,6%

In January-August of this year economic growth reached 3,6% in Azerbaijan, as well as more than 5,5% increase was recorded in the non-oil sector, said Azerbaijan’s minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov in his speech at the 10th meeting of the Ministers of Economy of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.

According to him, one of the important factors influencing economic growth are investments in fixed assets of private enterprises.

“We recorded the increase of private investments in 1,7% level in the first seven months of this year. Export of the country reached 31%, as well as non-oil export increased by 37% to reach USD 1,6 bln. Other macro fiscal, macroeconomic indicators are quite optimistic and exceed several forecasts,” the minister noted.
