Senol Gunes: "We think we will play at home in Azerbaijan, in Baku"

“Before the draw, we discussed cities and trips more than competitors. We wanted Baku, even if it was a long trip,” said manager of the Turkish team Senol Gunes, APAsport reports commenting on the draw for the Euro 2020 final.

“We think we will play at home in Azerbaijan, in Baku. It will be a bit difficult to get to Baku after playing the opening game in Rome. Strong teams from Europe participated in the draw. I wish them all the best. It is proud of Turkey to be in this tournament. ”

“Looking at the other nations, Roberto Mancini worked in Turkey (for Galatasaray) and knows us well, the same goes for (Switzerland manager Vladimir) Petkovic. Perhaps only Wales don’t know Turkish football very well.

“I can say Italy are the favorites, as they have been very strong lately, as well as fortunate, winning all 10 qualifiers. I hope they will get the first defeat from us. ”
