The third meeting of the Joint Azerbaijan-Qatari Intergovernmental Economic, Trade and Technical Commission was held in the building of the Ministry of Emergency Situations today, APA reports.

The meeting was attended by the co-chairs of the Joint Azerbaijan-Qatari Intergovernmental Economic, Trade and Technical Commission - Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov and Deputy Prime Minister of the State of Qatar, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and members the commission headed by them on both sides.

Speaking about the work done over the period since the creation of the commission, the minister expressed confidence that mutual efforts to further expand the multi-vector ties between our countries will continue. Informing about the Alat Free Economic Zone, the foundation of which was laid by President Ilham Aliyev on July 1, 2021, Minister Heydarov expressed confidence that participation in the projects implemented here would be interesting for the business circles of Qatar, and especially for Qatari investors in the industrial sector.

K. Heydarov also informed about the improvement and construction works in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from the Armenian occupation. The minister invited Qatari businessmen, business circles and investors to invest in these territories.

In turn, Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, noting the significance of the work carried out, recalled that there are good opportunities for expanding relations between our countries, including in the spheres of economy, trade, investment and tourism, and stressed the importance of continuing efforts to use these opportunities in based on mutual benefit. He expressed confidence that, relying on wise decisions and the political will of the leaders of the two countries, the Commission will continue to successfully fulfill the tasks entrusted to it to further expand the multi-vector ties between Azerbaijan and Qatar.

At the meeting, a wide exchange of views took place on other issues of mutual interest, opinions and proposals of the members of the commission were heard, and discussions were held. At the end of the meeting, the Protocol of the third meeting of the Joint Economic, Trade and Technical Commission between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Qatar was signed.
