Azerbaijan's Deputy FM informed diplomatic corps about the provocation of Armenia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has held a briefing for representatives of the diplomatic corps operating in Azerbaijan in connection with the military provocation committed by the Armenian armed forces in the direction of Tovuz on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border on July 12, said Leyla Abdullayeva, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports.

Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov, Chief of the International Military Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Huseyn Mahmudov, heads of missions of 74 countries and international organizations and military attaches attended the briefing.

"Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov brought the political assessment of the military provocation to the attention of the diplomatic corps. As is known, an official statement of the Foreign Ministry was issued in connection with the provocation. Our official statement has been brought to the attention of all states and international organizations through diplomatic channels.

At the same time, during a briefing at the Foreign Ministry today, representatives of the international community in our country were once again provided with detailed information about the incident. In his presentation, the Deputy Minister informed the diplomatic corps that this military provocation committed by Armenia is a new act of aggression. In particular, it was noted that the provocation took place on the state border of the two countries, the aggressive tendencies of the Armenian side to seize Azerbaijani territories and new positions, as well as a continuation of the recent actions and statements of the Armenian leadership.

One of the main goals of the Armenian side's provocation is to involve military-political organizations and third countries in the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In this regard, during the briefing, the Deputy Minister said that if it is a third party, these countries are quite wise in this matter. Naturally, they will not allow them to become a tool in Armenia's ugly games and intentions," said MFA official.
