Delegation of Azerbaijani Parliament to participate in spring session of IPA CIS

A parliamentary delegation to be led by Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova are leaving for St Petersburg on 14 April to join the spring session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Member-Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States there, Press and Public Relations Department told APA.

The delegation will comprise the MPs Nizami Safarov, Arzu Naghiyev, Amina Agazade, Mikhail Zabelin, and Emin Hajiyev as well as Chief of the Milli Majlis Staff Safa Mirzayev and other officials.

It should be mentioned that the said session will include a meeting of the IPA CIS Council, the 52nd plenary sitting of the Assembly and meetings of the Permanent Commissions.

The subjects proposed for deliberations during the session will first be contemplated at the Council meeting at the Tauride Palace of St Petersburg. The topic ‘Legal regulation of migration processes in the pandemic period and the role of the CIS member-states’ parliaments in this process’ will be deliberated upon during the plenary sitting. Our MPs are going to voice their opinions about the matters lined up for discussion at the Permanent Commissions’ meetings.

Also there in St Petersburg the parliamentary delegation of Azerbaijan will take part in the international parliamentary conference ‘Global Challenges and Threats in the COVID-19 Pandemic Environment; Terrorism and Violent Extremism.’

Besides, Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova is to have a number of meetings with the leaders of the other delegations that will be taking part in the event.

Their visit ends on 16 April.
