Iranian MFA: “Official Tehran is determined to develop relations with Baku”

“Official Tehran is determined to develop relations with Baku,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh told APA’s Tehran bureau.

Saeed Khatibzadeh noted that sending a high-ranking official as ambassador to Azerbaijan is an indication of its serious intention to develop relations: “Iran recognizes no borders in developing relations with Azerbaijan.”

Responding to a question regarding a meeting of Azerbaijani and Iranian officials in the coming days Khatibzadeh said: "We hope that the coronavirus pandemic will decrease and expected meetings will be continued."

Regarding the trilateral summit among Azerbaijan, Russia, and Iran, Saeed Khatibzadeh noted that the possibility of holding this meeting is being considered.
