“First of all, the mechanism for monitoring the ceasefire in the conflict zone already exists. These functions are carried out by a mission led by the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office on the Conflict, Andrzej Kasprzyk,” said Azerbaijani FM Jeyhun Bayramov in an interview with TASS while answering to question regarding the need to involve various international mechanisms to control violations of the ceasefire regime on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border

According to Foreign Minister, the Armenian side is trying to consolidate the results of its military aggression, and to drag out the negotiation process and reduce it to the solution of secondary tasks: “We consider it necessary to concentrate on solving the primary tasks. The main reason for the persistence of tensions is the continuing Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani territories. Consequently, it is necessary to eliminate the occupation itself, that is, withdraw the Armenian Armed Forces from all the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. The coordination of a timetable for the withdrawal of the occupying forces should be the subject of negotiations. We consider the issue of monitoring in the context of the withdrawal of troops and the return of the expelled population. Further actions in this direction must be synchronized with the liberation of territories.”
