“We support the expansion of cooperation with Azerbaijan,” said Lithuania's Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis at joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart, APA reports.
The minister noted that there is great potential in order to expand bilateral economic cooperation: “Azerbaijan is the biggest trade partner of Lithuania in the Caucasus. We support expanding cooperation in the political field between the EU and Azerbaijan.”
According to him, he has got acquainted with the post-conflict situation: “While looking from outside, it is not easy to understand what is inside. There are opportunities for the participation of European organizations in the situation after conflict. This is not only related to humanitarian aid to people affected by the conflict, but also to mediation in the process of achieving peace and reconciliation. If the sides also want, Lithuania is ready to support these processes.”
