Ombudsman addresses report to international organizations on hate crimes against Azerbaijanis

Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva has prepared a report on hate crimes and hate speech against Azerbaijanis and addressed it to international organizations, press service of the Ombudsman Apparatus told APA.

Purpose of the report is to deliver violation of human rights caused by policy, which was conducted against Azerbaijanis in Armenia and beyond its borders for many years and promoted hatred in ethnic grounds, to the world community and to make a call on taking measures in the direction of prevention of the hatred-based policy.

Factual materials obtained by Ombudsman, reliable information disseminated in social media networks and press have been used in developing the report.

Ombudsman expresses concern on the irresponsibility of the Armenian state and its institutions, disrespect for human rights and freedoms, disregard for the rule of law, ignoring international law in her report and calls on international organizations, national human rights institutions to combine efforts for ending such actions which can lead to new hotbeds of conflict.
