President Ilham Aliyev: "Recep Tayyip Erdogan is a world leader"

"The prayers of the Azerbaijani people and our friends and comrades living in other countries protect us. Because we are on the right path. We are fighting for our land,” Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with Turkish A Haber channel, APA reports.

The head of state said that the war waged by Armenia is a war of evil forces: "We have always got support from Turkey. In recent years, the leadership of Turkey and Azerbaijan have connected so many of our countries with such strong ties that this unity, this brotherhood is unshakable. I have been receiving many letters from Turkey these days. They write that Mr. President, we are ready to come to Azerbaijan, and we are ready to help. These make us very emotional. Our unity is manifesting itself once again at this difficult time. Thank you again to all our Turkish brothers. We feel their support. This support gives us extra strength and strengthens our will. My dear brother, esteemed President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said that Azerbaijan is not alone, Turkey stands by Azerbaijan. This, in fact, is the most beautiful expression, the most beautiful word that confirms our unity."

Ilham Aliyev also expressed his views on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan: "Recep Tayyip Erdogan is my brother. We have a very close relationship. Both as president and as two persons. I have great respect for him. He is a world leader. He raised Turkey to great heights, elevated Turkey, introduced Turkey to the whole world as a dignified and proud state. Great injustices are being done against him. And in some countries, unfortunately, some political forces are in Turkey. Of course, I can't get involved in this. But as a human, I can not remain indifferent to this. Because the work he has done for Turkey is large-scale, and there is no other person in Turkey like him who loves Turkey today, defends its interests and puts his chest forward. Everyone should know this. Everyone in Azerbaijan knows this. Many people in Turkey also know, but for those who do not know, I want them to see. Because political struggle is everywhere. There is also a national issue. There should be no political struggle in the national issue. We must unite in the face of threat. Today, they are attacking Turkey from all sides. It takes a lot of courage to stand up to him, to stand like a shield in front of him. Requires great professionalism, knowledge, will. My brother is such a person. And I can say this with all sincerity because I know him well. And I wish him continued success. His words, his steps, his presence are important for the whole Turkic world.
