“The three co-chair countries of the Minsk Group that have a mandate to find solutions to the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan are the United States of America, Russia, and France. Therefore, it is natural that our ministers meet in these three capitals. Such meetings took place many times previously. You know, the visit has also been made to Moscow, the meeting has taken place there as well”.
According to APA, said President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in his interview with Japan’s Nikkei newspaper on October 21 in his response to the question saying “The ministers of foreign affairs of Azerbaijan and Armenia will make a visit to Washington on Friday. What do you expect from this meeting? Are you ready for negotiations in the trilateral format under some conditions?”.
President said thus this is the continuation of the peaceful settlement of the conflict: "Of course, the situation on the ground has changed as of now. The status quo doesn’t already exist. The contact line also doesn’t exist. Therefore, of course, I think that now, Armenia’s leadership should behave even more logically and should be committed to the emptying of the occupied territories. Thus, our main purpose in these discussions is to determine whether or not Armenia’s leadership is ready for withdrawal from our territories and if ready, when this will take place".
