Russian MFA: From the very beginning, we supported the idea of holding a special session of the UNGA against COVID-19 initiated by Azerbaijan

From the very beginning, Russia supported the idea of holding a special session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on the fight against COVID-19 at the initiative of Azerbaijan, said Maria Zakharova, the Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Russian Federation at today’s briefing while responding to the question about the special session of the UN General Assembly on COVID-19 to be held at the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev.

According to her, the initiative to convene this session belongs to the President of Azerbaijan as chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement.
