The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has commented on the joint military exercises of Azerbaijan and Turkey, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
Alexei Zaytsev, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry said joint, planned and operational-tactical military exercises are being held in Azerbaijan from July 29 to August 10 on the basis of an agreement on military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
"We closely monitor the situation in the region, especially taking into consideration the recent conflict on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border, and call on the parties to show restraint, including in their current military activities," he said.
